"If you're interested in getting your gigs promoted in Charlotte, you should consider contacting Laurie Koster (www.lauriekoster.com). She publishes THE BEST local music guide for the region (from Asheville to Columbia, SC). I'd suggest that if you do that, consider making a contribution to her (can be done online, PayPal or good old fashioned check in the mail)."

This and That:

**Jim Duffy, Executive Producer Venture Media, Inc. is a TV/documentary producer/writer who is putting together a band for a road tour they're basing out of Charlotte called "This Is The '60s." http://www.ThisIsThe60s.com. It's currently targeted at talent buyers and PAC bookers, but will be revamped for the public once the show launches. The tour is being repped and booked by APA in New York for the 2012 season, although they've already been promoting it as a "preview" and have gotten quite a few bookings based on the concept alone. In short, the show is a multimedia, "live documentary" focused on the music and pop culture of the 1960s. It features extensive film segments, graphics, animation, dancers, and of course, a live 5-piece band playing some of the best music in the history of rock. He's already found a lead female vocalist/guitarist in Joan Burton from Myrtle Beach. He's still looking to fill the following slots: - Lead guitarist/vocalist, - Bass/ vocalist, - Keyboards/vocalist, - Drums. For more information contact Jim at jim@venturemedia.tv.
