**Music at the Depot: Winter Acoustic Series - The Gaston County Museum of Art & History - 205 West Main Street - Dallas, NC.  This new series of live, intimate shows will take place January through March on the second Friday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. featuring the following performers: Feb. 12 – Chris Cook and Mar.12 - Rebecca Rippy.  Tickets can be bought in advance for $10 or purchased the day of the show for $13. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged since seating is limited. Advance ticket information is available by contacting Jeff Pruett 704.922.7681 x 105 or jpruett@co.gaston.nc.us

The Depot, built in 1903, was originally the Carolina and Northwestern Train Depot located in Dallas on Main Street, a few blocks south of the museum. It was moved to its current location at 205 West Main Street in 1977 where it was used as an art center. Later, it became the museum’s exhibit design shop and has recently been renovated and renamed the Anne Biggers Furr Learning Station with support from Rennie and Anne Bradley Biggers, the Community Foundation of Gaston County, and the Carrie E. and Lena V. Glenn Foundation. In addition to music events, The Depot will also host art exhibits, programs, and other museum functions.

**Charlotte Performing Artist Association - is a new networking group for artists in the Greater Charlotte area who actively perform out live (or who want to actively perform out live). Whereas the base is comprised of musicians, CPAA is open to all types of performers – actors, comedians, spoken word poets, etc. The basic premise is that there is power in numbers and that artists (and consequently, the community at large) benefit from getting to know each other, sharing “war” stories, exchanging leads, discovering the talents of other artists, and brainstorming on ways to further work together. They will meet the First Thursday of each month at the Common House Restaurant from 7:30-9:30pm. It is *not* an organized meeting…just a relaxed place to meet, have a drink (and/or dinner), and network with each other. At the same time, Paul Atkinson will host an *open mic* – which gives an opportunity to not only talk about what they do, but if they so choose, to show each other (and other listeners/fans as well). The inaugural CPAA meeting will be Thursday, February 4th, 2010. Common House Restaurant is located: 1101 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC -- Paul Atkinson http://www.paulatkinsonmusic.com
