***If you're a band or artist who wants to perform in a 2012 DNC special event, follow these instructions. I don't think this will be the only way you'll get a gig, but it wouldn't hurt to sign up for any larger events they may be putting together.  From: Katie Oates: "Best thing to tell anyone who wants to play for event, etc. is to sign up on the vendor directory. It will sound oriented to business, but this is the place to register for getting hired in any fashion by the convention. Tell people to be careful to use this exact name--other websites are out there posing as the convention site...."  http://www.charlottein2012.com/

Thank you Wanda Hubicki and The Charlotte Folk Society for your support, and all you provide to this community! Friends, become a part of The Folk Society.  You’ll receive a newsletter every month to keep you up to date on CFS events, as well as a calendar that covers the music we value all over North Carolina and beyond. Members may also use the Instrument Lending Library and take advantage of merchant discounts and occasional concert ticket discounts.  http://www.folksociety.org

Thank you Rhonda & Project Halo for your super sweet and generous kindness!

Thank you to those who have reciprocated links or shown appreciation or have supported me in some way throughout the years.  This weekly newsletter not only takes many, many hours to compile, distribute, blog and promote, but also costs a monthly fee.  It's become a valuable resource for many, and a treasured promotional tool for others. I started it, (in 2003), as a service to my musician clients and friends who, at the time, had few ways of promoting their shows, or a publication that would have an interest in writing about, or even listing their independent shows. It has grown since then to include much more, but its purpose remains the same - not to be a comprehensive list, but a way to help promote and advertise those artists and venues I'm familiar enough with to personally recommend, and whom I feel may need, and appreciate, what I do.
