Adoring fans of the nostalgic sounds produced by Fleet  Foxes and Band of Horses or the percussive experimentation of Local Natives will  find a sense of familiarity in the evocative, ethereal sounds of Desert Noises’  latest LP, Mountain Sea."  Soundmagonline.com

SPECIAL  THANKS!

Rick Spreitzer
"Here's a message going out to you Charlotte-area musicians and  music lovers (and beyond). Please consider contributing to the Charlotte  Events Calendar (which is put together by our beloved, Laurie Koster).  All contributions of $25 and over put you in the drawing for a $400+ Pono  baritone ukulele (model MB). This uke is all solid wood and sounds awesome.  Laurie is all solid Charlotte music and just IS aweome! I so appreciate her  support and friendship over the years. Please, if you play locally or follow  local music, consider sending some money her way. You can check out more details  on the following link: http://charlottemusic.typepad.com/.  Thanks for putting a  little of your money where so much of our hearts are... and thanks, Laurie for  doing what you do!"

***********The Charlotte Folk Society
"...the Board wants  you to know how much we appreciate your continuing support and publicity for our  concerts."

***********Tammy Brackett
"You make a difference, Laurie.  Your kindness to musicians (who really need kindness...and food...and shelter)  is noticed by the universe. You've always been so supportive and sweet. YOU are  valued beyond dollars!"
Tammy Brackett is the owner  of Moonstruck Promotions, a solo publicist, consultant and writer, booking agent  and former tour manager and performer. Over the past 18 years, she's crafted a  business from the music industry. Tammy is the author of Fifty Ways to Tour  Without Getting in the Van, Fifty Rules of Rock, Backstage Pass: Organize Your  Band and Backstage Pass: Book Your Band. She’s just released Another Nightmare  Gig from Hell, a compilation of stories from touring musicians, with co-author  Nick Zelinger. She's an expert in practical and do-it-yourself music matters.  She writes an advice and inspiration blog for musicians at http://alunatunes.wordpress.com/. **********Thank you to PLAYING FOR OTHERS (a teen  development program that combines: Leadership Training, Buddy Program, Arts) for  inviting yours truly to be a guest panelist to judge the Live Concert & Songwriting Competition

Thank you to those who  have reciprocated links or shown appreciation or have supported me in some way  throughout the years.  This weekly newsletter not only takes many, many hours to  compile, distribute, blog and promote, but also costs a monthly fee.  As many  have shared with me, it's both a valuable resource, and a treasured promotional  tool. I started it, (in 2003), as a service to my musician clients and friends  who, at the time, had few ways of promoting their shows, or a publication that  would have an interest in writing about, or even listing their independent  shows. It has grown since then to include much more, but its purpose remains the  same - not to be a comprehensive list, but a way to help promote and advertise  those artists and venues I'm familiar enough with to personally recommend, and  whom I feel may need, and appreciate, what I do.
