***Mike Pinder's Songwars - The intent of Songwars is to Help, Support and Celebrate Songwriters Around the World.  Mike (founding member of The Moody Blues) has a strong sense of artistic responsibility to support the development of music from one generation to the next. He also has a desire to help new talent refine their art and be validated through that process. This songwriter's competition is the result of his vision and passion. Mike Pinder's SONGWARS songwriters contest is a quarterly competion. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. There will also be an annual overall Grand-Prize winner selected from the four quarterly contest winners and phone consultation with Mike.  Honorable Mentions will be awarded to songs that were in the final stages of competition and deserve high praise. Songwars certificates will be awarded.

For each song submitted, the songwriter will receive a song evaluation. Song finalists and winners will be showcased on the website. I can't recommond the Brian Vander Ark show enough - he puts on awesome shows. If it wasn't on a Wednesday night I'd come out to Charlotte myself for the show from Raleigh, but I'm driving up to Ashland VA for the Saturday 10/04 show instead.
