Your financial assistance is greatly needed. If you have benefited from subscribing to this newsletter, or being listed and promoted by it, please consider donating to the cause so I can continue to help support, recommend and promote this growing music scene, your events and your growing interest in live music in Charlotte. If you cannot contribute at this time, PLEASE share the newsletter and your support with your friends and fans. Thank you.
"Laurie, The price of a ticket to a show is always known. The price of missing one that I didn't know about is much more. There's always been cool people in the background of a music scene that keep it going. You are one of those people and I appreciate what you do. This is my first contribution to keeping the newsletter coming. I feel good about doing it and you will hear from me again. Thanks for all you do. Alton"
THANK YOU SINCERELY TO THOSE WHO CAME FORWARD TO HELP KEEP THIS NEWSLETTER AND MY PASSION FOR SUPPORTING THIS MUSIC SCENE, AND BEYOND, ALIVE!
(Be sure to read/scroll to the end of the newsletter for special announcements and band news.)

Special thanks this week to Louis Kaufmann, Jim Pitman, Rufus & Cyndi Smith, Alton Purvis and Jeff Willis! and my special friends & family who listen to me, advise me and are always there for moral, and wise, support.
"I would have missed so many bands and performances if I didn't have those electronic newsletters. John Tosco and Laurie Koster in the same city-Charlotte is truly blessed!" Jeff (Willis)

"Laurie, I really appreciate all that you do for the local music scene. You've been so encouraging and (as you say, "someone's gotta write that weepy, whiny sh*t!). I know how hard you work on that newsletter and how much heart you put into the scene. Thanks for all that you do! Busting out the checkbook as we speak!" ~ Rick Spreitzer

"We all second that..Hell we all third that! Thx again Guys!" Rufus & Cyndi Smith - Support Local House Concerts

Thanks for all you do." Alton
*
"Thanks for your coverage and support, much appreciated as always! :)" Rob Tavaglione, Owner, Catalyst Recording
*"Laurie, As I go to check my e-mail, 9 out of 10 times Ihave an e-mail from you informing me about the events in the surrounding area. I must say that I appreciate and respect your work as a promoter, simply for the love of music, with my fullest capability. The Avett Brothers work everyday from the time we wake until the time we sleep. I never stop and doubt I will ever be able to. Musicians and artist can go months without paychecks and never even consider another line of work. I know this because it is how I live as an artist and musician. My point is this.....THANK YOU. You are the kind of force that musicians and artist need. One who loves it regardless and does everything that they can to keep it alive. That is how we feel.
Thanks, Sincerely - The Avett Brothers Scott Avett" (2003)

Thank you to those who have reciprocated links or shown appreciation or have supported me in some way throughout the years. This weekly newsletter not only takes many, many hours to compile, distribute, blog and promote, but also costs a monthly fee. As many have shared with me, it's both a valuable resource, and a treasured promotional tool. I started it, (in 2003), as a service to my musician clients and friends who, at the time, had few ways of promoting their shows, or a publication that would have an interest in writing about, or even listing their independent shows. It has grown since then to include much more, but its purpose remains the same - not to be a comprehensive list, but a way to help promote and advertise those artists and venues I'm familiar enough with to personally recommend, and whom I feel may need, and appreciate, what I do.
